Thank You For Visiting The Pellet Stove and Boiler Guide!

If you have not already done so, please click the play button above to
watch the introductory video to the pellet stove and boiler guide. Here
at PelHeat we have been researching and experimenting with pellet fuels
since 2006. Wood pellets are the market leader, however there are many
other fuel pellets that can also be used. Biomass fuel pellets are the
future of the fuel pellet market.

The Growth In Demand For Wood Pellet Stoves and Pellet Boilers

Since the start of the new millennium wood pellet stoves and boilers
have started to be taken seriously as a heating solution. They were
first invented during the 1970's during the oil crisis, however as oil
prices returned to normal the appeal of the pellet stove fell away.
However now higher oil and gas prices are back, for instance recently
in the UK the price of gas has risen by 20%. Therefore wood pellet
stoves and boilers provide a cheaper alternative.

The Wide Variety Of Biomass Materials That Can Make Fuel Pellets

Wood is obviously the fuel source you will be familiar with, however
there are many more biomass materials such as straws, grasses and
energy crops which can make fuel pellets. However not all pellet stoves
and boilers can use these fuels, therefore this guide will show you
what to look for in a quality burner.

Pellet Stoves and Boilers Are A New Concept To Most People

When it comes to heating with wood, you will be thinking of an open
fire or maybe a basic log stove. In most peoples awareness that is as
far a wood fuel heating progressed. However with the development of the
wood pellet fuel, highly automated and controlled combustion systems
were designed. Pellet fuel is a standardized fuel that has the same
diameter, length and density. Therefore the actual heat value of the
fuel can be predicted very accurately in terms of per kilo for example.
For instance one kilo of wood pellets will produce 5 Kw's of heat for
an hour. That is very impressive compared to even a dry oak log.
Pellets have a higher density than logs, and it is this increased
density which makes them flow like water or sand through an hour glass.
That why on a pellet stove or boiler you simply fill the hopper with
fuel and burner will do the rest.

How PelHeat Can Help To Educate You On Pellet Stoves

As the pellet stove and boiler market is fairly new, it is still going
through the initial stages of development. There are a few brand
leaders such as Harman and Breckwell, however there is a huge range of
manufacturers which is growing year on year. The standard grade of fuel
which all pellet stoves and boilers can use is the premium grade wood
pellet, however this is also the most expensive grade of pellet fuel
and the market will move forward to other grades over the next couple
of years. Due to this reason you do not want to purchase a pellet
furnace which is designed to burn only premium grade wood pellets, you
want a more capable pellet stove or boiler. Even if you intend to only
purchase premium grade wood pellets, having that choice to use other
cheaper and more available grades of pellet fuel has many benefits.
Such as local pellet fuels.

Premium Wood Pellets Compared To Other Fuel Pellets

The pellet fuel market may have started on premium grade wood pellets,
however this is not a sustainable approach. The waste from the timber
industry is what is used to produce premium wood pellets, however there
is not enough of this waste to develop the pellet fuel heating market
to its full potential. Premium wood pellets produce less than 0.5% ash,
and no other wood pellets or biomass fuel pellets can match this.
However as most pellet stoves and boilers are designed to burn only
premium wood pellets, this does remove the issue of choice. There are
some pellet stoves and boilers which are more flexible. Other fuel
pellets will have a slightly higher ash content but they will be more
readably available, and can potentially be produced locally.

Keeping Your Annual Pellet Fuel Costs To A Minimum

While you may be only interested in premium wood pellets, I'm sure if
the price began to skyrocket you would be willing to consider other
fuel pellets. This is where you need to have the choice to be able to
burn cheaper fuel pellets to keep annual fuel costs to a minimum. This
choice only comes from purchasing a pellet stove or boiler which can
burn other grades of fuel pellets without issues.

How Important The Option Of Choice Is For Fuel Pellets

During the 2007 US housing crash, practically all new home construction
stopped. This therefore reduced the demand for timber, and timber
production reduced. Reduced timber production means less sawdust, and
the pellet manufacturers didn't have sufficient raw materials to meet
market demand. As the winter cold set in people tried to purchase
pellets and this caused the price of premium wood pellets to double
over this time. Consumers who had purchased pellet stoves and boilers
which can only burn premium grade had no choice but to pay the prices.
This is an important lesson for the pellet manufacturers and for the
pellet fuel consumers, a wider range of materials need to be used for
the production of fuel pellets to keep prices stable.

The PelHeat Beginners Guide And Complete Guide

We have the experience to know what its like to burn a wide range of
fuel pellets, and what a pellet burner needs to address the possible
issues with increased ash, possible clinker formations and increased
corrosion risk. The majority of pellet stoves and boilers will not give
you the choice to burn other fuel pellets. Therefore you need to have
the information to be able to spot pellet stoves and boilers which will
let you burn higher ash content fuels. That is what our guide can help
you with, and if it doesn't you can have a 100% refund.

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of http://bing.com, http://yahoo.com or http://google.com.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
